Guild Board Positions

Here is a description of our current board positions:

  • President: Presides at all meetings of the membership, all meetings of the Board of Directors, and shall be an ex officio member of any committee established by the Lighthouse Knitting Guild of Maine.  With the advice and majority consent of the Board of Directors, appoints all standing committees to be established by the Lighthouse Knitting Guild of Maine (LKGM). Qualifications: Current membership to The Knitting Guild Association (TKGA).

  • Vice President: Assists the President and serves in the absence of the President. Serves as the chairman of the Lighthouse Knitters' Guild of Maine’s program committee, bylaws committee, and audit committee, should such committees be established. Recommended: membership to TKGA.

  • Secretary: Keeps minutes of all proceedings of meetings of the membership and the Board of Directors. Coordinates the publication of a monthly membership newsletter. Coordinates the correspondence at the direction of the President. Keeps accurate and continually updated lists of members in good standing, together with their current addresses. Recommended: membership to TKGA.

  • Treasurer: Receives and disburses all monies. Presents statements of the current financial condition at all meetings of the Board of the Lighthouse Knitters' Guild of Maine and quarterly at Guild meetings. Submits appropriate Federal and State tax forms as required for 501c (7) organizations. Recommended: membership to TKGA

  • Programs Coordinator: Foster current Guild’ Knitting for Others” (NFO) programs, such as Windham H.S. annual hat/scarf drive and Warmup America (WUA). Develop and foster new NFO partnerships, with an emphasis on local communities. Engage the talent within the membership to participate in the education and methods to help every knitter gain knowledge and confidence. Support the calendaring of activities and programs for the Guild.Recommended: membership to TKGA.
